I don’t usually do Safeway (without coupons, they were just too expensive and I can’t seem to find anything there). I decided to try them out a few weeks ago. I had 4 windex cleaners and 4 coupons for windex cleaner. The clerk said she could only take one (now, the cleaner was around $2, the coupons were for $1 and I was supposed to get a $4 catalina coupon when you buy 4)…without the other 3 coupons, this was not a freebie. I didn’t buy ANY of them – and frankly, it will be a long time before I’m back (except for donuts – I know where those are!). Does their policy say anything about this? And is it somewhere I can print it out?
By the way, one of the Targets in my area is doing a similar thing (makes it hard to get the gift card deals AND use coupons to get a better deal). I DO have their policy – and usually just smile and then take the coupons to the closer Target store and ask them to adjust for missed coupons). I was told that they had a big meeting and are trying to avoid coupon fraud – and “I’m on tape” she said.
Crazy…
We don’t have a Safeway in our area. But our Walmart will only accept 1 (like) internet printed coupon per transaction. I wonder is Safeway is the same?
As for Target, I guess they now have you ‘on tape’ teaching their employees about their own coupon policy…lol.
