40 Tips for Road Trips with Toddlers & Preschoolers

Everyone gets excited about going on vacation or a road trip. However, if you are traveling with kids (of any age), there is always the added stress of keeping them entertained.

Over the years we have taken quite a few road trips with our kids. When they were younger it required a bit more creativity and planning on what I was going to bring to keep them entertained. As they got older, I still did a lot of preparing – just differently.

When the guys were younger, I packed all sorts of games and entertainment for them. We had the travel games, car-trip games all on a clip board (license plate game, ABC game…). As the got older, these were replaced with Books on CD, MP3 players with headphones and such. For every car trip though, food is a big hit! I would make each kid his own bag of goodness! Items inside would range from cereal mix-ups, lollipops, gum, granola bars, fresh fruit and more.

No matter what your kids ages are, I am sure you will find some great tips in this article!
